Title: Construction Site Supervisor

Pay: $38 to $46/hr - Based on Experience

Shifts/Hours: Daytime - Based on client-specific needs

Location: Ottawa and Gatineau areas

Job Details:

We’re currently hiring an Experienced Site Supervisor on behalf of a Construction client of ours located in Gatineau, QC. Our client has been growing their business since 2002 and is on the move again! You’ll be working under the direction of 34+ years of building experts! Within this role, you will be integral to the smooth operation of projects, including dealing with all contractors, scheduling construction trade needs, and maintaining contact with the Project Managers. We require a bilingual candidate with 7-10 years of progressive commercial construction experience and who holds a current "Reliability" level security clearance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall on-site project effort, ensures the project is built to design and quality, helps control costs, and keeps to the established schedule.
  • Greets, orients, and walks subs through the shift schedule outlining expectations for the shift and week ahead.
  • Maintains daily contact with PM and PMA to review project schedule. Helps chase shop drawings and change order pricing.
  • Coordinates all on-site activities including sequencing tasks and scheduling trades.
  • Reviews, meets with, and schedules inspections and reviews with Engineers, Consultants, and City Inspector.
  • Reviews material delivery for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitors and controls quality against shop drawings. Collects and maintains job site records including delivery receipts, waybills, T&M vouchers, and inspection reports.
  • Related to quality control, checks and reviews installations against quality standards i.e., even paint, clean and accurate installations, straight lines, cleanliness, dents, marking, etc. Maintains photo records, reports infractions to PM, and follows up.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections, ensures policies, procedures, and standards are met.
  • Completes Site Orientation (and has sub sign Site Orientation Form) and ensures ALL trades sign the H&S Policy Statement.
  • Completes Site Safety Audit, walk‑about inspections (sends copy to head office).
  • Chairs weekly group or individual Toolbox meetings - Issues minutes and posts on Safety Board.
  • Presents regular progress reports with photos to the Management team.
  • Responsible for keeping the site clean, organized, and free of debris and tripping hazards.
  • Responsible for site security - No unauthorized access - Proper signage and site controls.
  • Responsible for maintaining the H&S Board.
  • Escalates to PM any roadblocks or anticipated issues in project schedule, budget, manpower on site, and participates in problem‑solving.
  • Participate in weekly site meetings with the project team and consultants.
  • Schedules and verifies correction of deficiencies.
  • Coordinates building bypasses, hot work permits, elevator scheduling, work permits necessary to effectively manage activities on site.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

  • Valid G class or Class 5 license for job site travels
