Title: Construction Project Manager

Location: Niagara Falls, NY 14304

Duration: 12+ Months (High possibility of extension)

Description:

  • Seeking a highly skilled, safety-focused Construction Project Manager to lead a major brownfield, redevelopment project involving the demolition of a large, existing structure and the new construction of a new Pre Engineered Metal Building (PEMB).
  • The ideal candidate will manage all phases of the project lifecycle with a strong emphasis on site safety, regulatory compliance, transparent budget oversight, contractor management, and cross-functional site coordination.
  • This role requires an initiative-taking leader who can effectively bridge the gap between project deliverables and stakeholder expectations, coordinate technical input, manage critical project deliverables, and ensure that all construction, design, and commissioning activities are executed to the highest standards.
  • The candidate will also support the delivery, installation, and commissioning of critical equipment for the new facility and function as the Project Manager for those efforts when required.

Responsibilities:

Construction Project Management & Execution
  • Ensure all subcontractors and vendors adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and schedule commitments through direct supervision, regular performance checks, and timely resolution of non-compliance or delays.
  • Oversee the demolition of existing infrastructure and construction of the PEMB, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, safety, and quality goals established for the project.
  • Maintain strict oversight of all assigned project budgets by proactively tracking expenditures, forecasting cost impacts, validating contractor billing, and ensuring all financial decisions align with project goals—while providing transparent, timely reporting to stakeholders and escalating variances as needed.
  • Maintain absolute control over site safety during demolition and construction activities by enforcing strict compliance with safety protocols, coordinating access and workflows among multiple third party contractors, and ensuring that all personnel operate within clearly defined, segregated zones to prevent incidents and maintain operational integrity.
  • Establish and lead regular site start-up meetings and daily coordination briefings to ensure all contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders are aligned on safety protocols, work sequencing, access logistics, and project milestones—fostering a culture of initiative-taking communication, accountability, and real-time issue resolution throughout all phases of construction.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable local and state regulations governing demolition and new construction, including permitting, environmental controls, solid waste handling, and safety standards.
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including facility operators and relevant personnel, to establish clear protocols, schedules, and safety measures that minimize disruptions to existing operations onsite throughout all phases of the construction project.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk reduction, and schedule improvements throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Safety Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead all aspects of site safety management, including daily briefings, daily safety walkarounds, and monthly audits.
  • Coordinate with the site Safety resources and subcontractors on EHS plans and execution strategies specific to each phase of the project.
  • Define safe access and segregation zones; issue permits to work and enforce safety protocols.
  • Perform a minimum of 3 SMAT per month and ensure project resources do the same; maintain and issue regular incident registers as deemed necessary.

Project Equipment Engineering and Execution

  • This role will be responsible for the end-to-end development and design of critical equipment to be integrated into the new facility.
  • This role involves translating project requirements into innovative, cost-effective equipment solutions that align with performance, safety, and scalability goals.
  • This part of the role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of engineered systems that are integral to the success of the expansion initiative.
  • Indirectly this role will manage onsite, third party contractor who will be facilitating demolition and construction for the expansion.

Qualifications:

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification (required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Experience with LEED or sustainable building practices.
