Jump Recruitment is seeking a seeking a dedicated and highly organized Constituency Assistant/Office Manager, located in Goose Bay, on behalf of our client, the Member of Parliament for Labrador.

This position supports day-to-day operations of a busy constituency office and plays a key role in ensuring effective communication, community engagement, and administrative efficiency on behalf of the elected representative. The ideal candidate will be professional, adaptable, and committed to serving the public with integrity and discretion.

As the first point of contact for constituents, the successful applicant will manage office operations, handle correspondence and scheduling, coordinate community outreach, and assist with research and casework. This is a dynamic position suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates sound judgment, and values teamwork and confidentiality.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring office accessibility to constituents through regular hours of operation by taking in-person appointments, answering phone calls, emails, and other correspondence
  • Taking appropriate initial action to resolve, document or escalate their concerns or inquiries
  • Assisting with advocacy work on behalf of constituents in need of support from various government programs (Immigration, student loans, CRA, EI, OAS, CPP, etc.) on a case-by-case basis, including detailed tracking of case files through databases and CRM
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidelines/legislation as appropriate in dealing with casework matters
  • Managing a case load while demonstrating empathy for others in difficult situations
  • Building and nurturing relationships with local stakeholders and their communities
  • Researching and identifying community events and proposing outreach initiatives
  • Assisting with office administration including file management and liaising with the Member
  • Aiding with event planning, scheduling, and outreach activities when required
  • Other duties as required, affiliated with day-to-day operations and special projects

What you will bring:

  • Relevant post-secondary education or experience equivalency
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with programs run by the federal government
  • Sound political judgement, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to work independently within a team and to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to create and execute a plan and meet strict deadlines
  • Must have a valid licence and access to a car
  • Availability to attend events on behalf of Member and occasionally bring greetings
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
