Qualifications

Job Description

The Conference Services Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing group events from contract turnover through to on‑site delivery. Acting as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments, the role ensures a seamless luxury experience that reflects Fairmont’s brand standards of service excellence, personalization, and operational precision.

Rate of Pay: $65,000 – $70,000 per year, dependent on experience
Job Duties Include
  • Assemble and distribute consistent, concise resumes and banquet event orders (BEO) that clearly represent an events every requirement for all departments
  • Work closely with the client and key hotel departments throughout the duration of their conference, being available to assist them at the appropriate times
  • Responsible for the successful outcome of assigned programs from pre‑arrival through to post‑departure
  • Work closely with the Sales department to ensure all contractual terms agreed upon are executed upon (including the management of Guest Room Attrition and follow‑up on Deposit Schedule)
  • Conducts formal pre‑ and post‑event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.
  • Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales & Event Management (OSEM) at all times
  • Anticipates, addresses, and resolves guest concerns with professionalism and impeccable service.
  • Conduct site inspections with clients, showcasing the hotel
  • Demonstrate ability to lead cross‑functional coordination with Banquets, Culinary, Rooms, Sales, and external partners to ensure seamless event execution
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Manages group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Strong understanding of event financials, including billing accuracy, deposit schedules, minimum spend requirements, and opportunities to optimize revenue
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Events Manager or similar role
  • Degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management an asset
  • Computer literate with Opera software (OSEM), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams etc.), Social Table (plan)
