A nonprofit organization focused on healthcare delivery is seeking a Community Coordinator to act as the primary point of contact during flight programs. The role involves significant fieldwork, trip planning, and community engagement. This position offers a salary between $60,000 and $70,000 annually and involves approximately 20 weeks of travel per year. destinationone is proud to exclusively partner with Helicopters Without Borders (HWB), a mission driven nonprofit organization redefining how health and wellness services are delivered to remote and underserved communities across British Columbia.
Helicopters Without Borders’ mission is to increase access to essential health and wellness services for the most marginalized and isolated communities in BC through carbon neutral aviation. By delivering care directly to communities with limited or no road access, HWB removes geographic barriers to healthcare and creates lasting, trust based relationships with the communities it serves.
What makes HWB truly unique is its operating model. It is the only organization in Canada focused exclusively on delivering healthcare directly to community doorsteps using aviation as the delivery modality. HWB operates with an entrepreneurial, empathetic, and highly autonomous culture where trust, accountability, and cultural humility are central to everything they do.
The Community Coordinator is a newly created, high impact role that will serve as the primary in community point of contact during HWB flight programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring clinics run smoothly, communities feel supported, and healthcare providers can focus on patient care.
The Community Coordinator will spend significant time in the field and will also contribute to planning, systems building, and logistics between flight weeks. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys frontline community engagement, and is comfortable making decisions independently in complex situations.
