Position Summary
Are you a dynamic communicator and organizer with a passion for enhancing student success and building strong partnerships? Join us as our new term Communications and Liaison Coordinator - Flexible Learning Division!
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and enhance communications, marketing, and operational processes related to course and program delivery for Regional Colleges, the High School Accelerated (HSXL) program and flexibly delivered courses. The role requires extensive liaison with internal and external stakeholders including University Communications & Marketing (UCM), CCE’s Marketing and Communications Unit (MCU), Enrolment Services, Recruitment, and partner institutions. The incumbent plays a key role in strengthening student, instructor, and partner experiences by improving communication strategies, streamlining processes, and supporting student transition and success.
In addition, the incumbent contributes significantly to Flexible Learning’s delivery and promotion of approximately 45,000 enrollments annually. Courses and programs are offered through multiple delivery modes such as online, LIVE streamed, face-to-face on and off-campus, Regional College, UR Early, and Evenings. This position also supports student success initiatives, leads targeted recruitment and outreach efforts, and develops communication tools and resources to support long-term growth and accessibility in Flexible Learning.
What You’ll Do :
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support flexible learning delivery by liaising with program managers, coordinators, faculty, and instructors to ensure smooth course operations across online, off-campus, and flexible modes.
- Enhance the student and instructor experience by serving as the main point of contact for inquiries, troubleshooting course access issues, managing communications, and supporting recognition programs for off-campus learners.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and execute marketing strategies in collaboration with internal communications teams, ensuring alignment with divisional priorities and promotion of Flexible Learning programs.
- Create and manage promotional materials and student communications across platforms, while representing Flexible Learning at events to engage and recruit students.
Content & Data Management
- Manage and maintain digital platforms by auditing website content and updating resources on UR Courses to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and usability.
- Support continuous improvement through collecting, administering, and analyzing student data and surveys to enhance program delivery.
Administrative & Institutional Engagement
- Represent the Division on committees and working groups to advance Flexible Learning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures across communications, marketing, and program activities.

Position Requirements
What You’ll Bring to this Position :
- Bachelor’s degree is required (Preferably with experience in communications)
- A minimum of 3 years’ progressively responsible experience (in an academic environment is preferred)
- Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role
- Knowledge of University processes, procedures, policies and organization
- Experience and knowledge of communication practices and recruitment is necessary
- Experience presenting recruitment materials as well as experience in the creation of marketing and communication materials
- Understanding of Continuing Education and its place within the University.
- Understanding of distance / distributed education within the province, via the provincial Regional Colleges’ system.
- Understanding of flexible delivery in multiple modes, using a revenue-generating model. University students of various ages and their needs
- Budgeting experience
- Events planning and project management experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail is required, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide and diverse range of people, students, and constituencies
- Ability to engage in critical thinking and analysis
- Ability to be self-directed able to multi-task
- Supervisor experience is an asset
- Experience in URCourse (Moodle), Slate, technical troubleshooting, web development, Banner, Cascade, Caspur Reports, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is an asset.
- Some travel (6-10 events) within Saskatchewan required, so must possess a valid driver’s license
