About the Role:

Trella is looking for a Commercial Manager to lead and grow our Domestic and Dry Bulk business verticals in Egypt. This role owns the full commercial strategy, execution, and profitability of both verticals—from driving shipper growth and lane expansion to ensuring healthy marketplace dynamics between demand and supply.

You’ll lead Trella’s engagement with some of the largest FMCG, industrial, and agricultural shippers in Egypt, while working cross‑functionally with Operations, Supply, and Finance to achieve growth and profitability targets.

What You’ll Do:

1. P&L Ownership

  • Own Net Revenue (NR), Take Rate (TR%) and Contribution Margin 2 (CM2) performance for both Domestic and Dry Bulk verticals.
  • Define and execute strategies to achieve monthly and annual Gross Bookings (GB) and margin targets.
  • Drive cost efficiency and maintain healthy marketplace economics.

2. Shipper Growth & Account Management

  • Lead commercial relationships with key shippers in FMCG, industrials, and construction materials sectors.
  • Expand share of wallet (SoW) and onboard new accounts through structured pipeline development.
  • Negotiate contracts, annual rate cards, and incentive structures.
  • Build quarterly joint business plans (JBPs) with strategic clients.

3. Vertical Strategy & Execution

  • Define go‑to‑market and growth strategies for both verticals (lane mix, segment focus, pricing).
  • Collaborate with Analytics to track trends, seasonality, and performance by shipper, lane, and truck type.
  • Identify and pursue white‑space opportunities (new lanes, new materials, underpenetrated industries).

4. Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Operations and Supply teams to ensure load fulfillment, service quality, and cost control.
  • Align with Finance on budget planning, forecasting, and commercial analysis.
  • Lead the commercial team (KAMs or sales associates), ensuring development and performance management.

5. Market & Competitor Intelligence

  • Stay close to market dynamics (fuel prices, capacity trends, competition, seasonality).
  • Continuously refine pricing strategies and incentive structures to protect Trella’s competitiveness.

What You’ll Need:

  • 6–10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or B2B commercial management, ideally in trucking, supply chain, or tech‑enabled logistics.
  • Proven experience managing P&L or large commercial portfolios.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent command of Excel/Google Sheets, data‑driven decision making, and financial understanding (NR, TR%, CM2, GB).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a fast‑paced startup environment.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
