The Role

As a Full Stack Developer - Co-op, you’ll join a driven and innovative engineering team working to radically improve how healthcare works. You’ll contribute to real features across the Verto platform while learning how to build clean, scalable applications using modern technologies. This role is perfect for someone early in their development journey who loves to learn fast, build cool things, and solve meaningful problems. You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers while gaining hands‑on exposure to front‑end, back‑end, and everything in between.

What You’ll Do

• Develop application features with high-quality, clean, and easy-to-read code
• Build both front-end and back-end components using technologies like Ruby on Rails, Flask, Angular, React Native, and Vue.js
• Troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues as they arise
• Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis
• Assist in building API endpoints that follow REST and MVC best practices
• Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and team meetings
• Collaborate with product, QA, and design to deliver small but high-impact features
• Learn how healthcare systems, data, and workflows operate through real project exposure
• Build and prototype ideas quickly—you’ll fit right in if you love hackathons

What You Bring

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and the MVC design pattern
• Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to write basic SQL queries
• Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
• Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with one or more technologies in our stack is a strong plus

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous co‑op, internship, or project experience using Ruby on Rails, Flask, or a front‑end framework
• Familiarity with Docker, Azure, or modern deployment tooling
• Experience participating in hackathons or building rapid prototypes
• Previous experience working in healthcare or health tech
