BWXT Precision Manufacturing Inc. (BWXT PMI) supplies nuclear-grade materials and precision machined components for CANDU nuclear power utilities around the globe. Based in Oakville, Ontario, BWXT PMI employs more than 130 employees, including manufacturing engineers and skilled trades personnel specializing in the manufacture of complex components through the use of leading-edge equipment.

We are looking for a CNC Maintenance Technician to join our team at our facility in Oakville, Ontario.

BWXT PMI is a leading supplier of nuclear-grade materials and precision-machined components for CANDU nuclear power utilities around the globe. We are an industry leader in providing critical nuclear components such as Fuel Channel End Fittings, Liners, Feeders, and Shield Plugs.

Accountabilities:
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems.
  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns. Repair/rebuild/replace parts where required.
  • Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when completing jobs.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) of various types of machines including determining what maintenance is required.
  • Track and document PM reports & downtime.
  • Conduct general facility maintenance tasks.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Work safely with a range of hand tools.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience working as a CNC Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment or similar job.
  • College Diploma or Trades certificate preferred but not an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC Lathe and Milling machinery an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills working within a team-based environment.
  • Strong ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly while maintaining the high standards required in our industry.
  • Experience using lifting devices (cranes and fork-lifts).

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $90,000 per year.
