The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing large, high quality landing gear components with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, while paying great attention to health and safety standards.

Requires the ability to rotate between 3 shifts.

Main responsibilities:

• Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; troubleshooting; entering tool offsets; M.D.I.
• Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
• Calculating Work Offsets/Indicating
• Understanding programmed tool path
• Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
• Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments; spring pass; test cut bore
• Ability to read and understand G and M codes
• Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
• Preventive maintenance
• 5-S Activities
• Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
• Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
• Other duties as assigned
• Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years CNC machining experience, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Ability to help produce large, high quality parts in a safe, productive and efficient manner.
• Ability to take direction from and interact with co-workers in a productive and positive manner.
• Minimum Gr. 12 education required.
• The ability to wear the required PPE.
• Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR/CGP directives.
