Job Details
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Location: Edmonton, AB T5N 0Z2 (On site)
- Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, negotiated; 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Employment Term: Permanent, full‑time.
- Shift options: Early morning, morning, day, evening, night, weekend, shift, overtime available.
- Starts as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Administer bedside and personal care
- Administer medications
- Assist clients in water (i.e., pool)
- Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Assist in regular exercise (e.g., walk)
- Feed or assist in feeding
- Launder clothing and household linens
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Provide personal care
- Shop for food and household supplies
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Cook
- Administer first‑aid and other assistance
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
- Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
- Behaviour management Certification
- Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (UMAB) course
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Health Care Aide Certificate
- Personal Support Worker Certificate
- Target audience: Adolescents; Persons with a disability, intellectual disability, mental health disabilities, physical disabilities; School age (6–12 years)
- Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports
- Experience with special needs children: Assistance with mobility
- Security and safety: Criminal record check; Child Abuse Registry check; Vulnerable sector check
- Work conditions and physical capabilities:
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking
- Physically demanding
