Job Description

We are currently searching for a Civil Engineer to join our Southern Region Division (Calgary, Lethbridge, or Medicine Hat).

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team active on municipal infrastructure projects, including water mains, sanitary sewers, drainage, development and roadways. This position will present many opportunities on a variety of tasks, and our expectation will be for the candidate to develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including preparing studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, and construction administration.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Acting as Engineer of Record for designs, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications and construction contract documents for work completed independently or by others through direct supervision.
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept to design to construction.
  • Executing tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews for other Engineers of Record on project deliverables.
  • Mentoring and coaching team of engineers and technologists on technical work and project management processes.
Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience in design and construction of stormwater drainage, water transmission, sanitary sewer collection and grading projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings.
  • Proven application of government and industry design, standards, specifications, regulations and guidelines for water, sanitary and stormwater infrastructure design and construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset.
