Work setting
Tasks
- Evaluate mobility, balance, gait and posture
- Examine the patient
- Observe the patient during the treatment
- Diagnose disorders of the spine and other body joints
- Advise patients on corrective exercises, lifestyle and nutrition
- Prepare a treatment plan for each patient
- Manipulate or apply pressure to various parts of the body, hands and feet
- Maintain progress and other reports
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care
- Maintain records of treatments given
- Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits and reshape their approach to wellness
- Evaluate patient care and progress
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team
