The Organization

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) delivers essential services to a unique mix of rural and urban communities, including partnerships with member municipalities and the shíshálh Nation Government District. With an operating budget of approximately $67 million and a capital budget of $68 million, SCRD is guided by a Strategic Plan focused on water stewardship, solid waste management, and long-term sustainability. The Opportunity

Due to a promotion, the SCRD is seeking a strategic and people-focused financial professional to join its senior leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the CAO, you will help shape corporate priorities while providing sound, forward-looking financial and operational advice. You’ll lead a high-performing team in Finance, Information Technology, and related services—ensuring fiscal sustainability, customer focus, and digital innovation across the organization.

Qualifications
  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA or CFA)
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial leadership, with a strong preference for public sector or local government experience
  • Experience leading finance and IT functions in complex or multi-stakeholder settings
  • A track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams and delivering on strategic priorities
