Overview

Millar Western’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Offloading Operator to join the Production team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed while offloading chemical railcars and trucks, operating equipment such as railcar mover and forklift, conducting routine equipment checks and basic maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. Additional duties may include performing fire protection system checks, supporting operations and other tasks as assigned.

Physical demands and schedule

Physical demands of the role include climbing stairs and ladders, as well as lifting items up to 25 kilograms. This position operates on 12-hour shifts, following a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate

  • Completed Grade 12 or possess a GED
  • Strong teamwork skills and basic computer proficiency
  • Willingness to learn and grow; effective organizational and communication abilities
  • Self-starter who works methodically, pays close attention to detail, and approaches challenges with a proactive mindset
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with quality control processes are valuable assets
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
