NOGDAWINDAMIN Family and Community Services, a designated Indigenous Child Welfare Agency under the Child Youth and Family Services Act serving member First Nations situated between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury is seeking to hire a:

FULL-TIME CONTRACT TO MARCH 31, 2026
THREE (3) – CASUAL IN-HOME CHILD AND YOUTH WORKERS

LOCATION: SAULT STE. MARIE
Starting Hourly Rate: $36.88

Job Summary

The In Home Child and Youth Worker is responsible for sharing the duties of a caregiver for children and youth within a culturally respectful home. The Worker will implement behavioral programming, provide support services and life skills coaching while creating a safe environment. They will provide opportunities to nurture secure attachment, develop the children and youth’s capacity to regulate their emotions, and foster resilience, helping them become healthy individuals. All duties are performed within the Child Youth and Family Services Act, Ministry Act, Ministry Standards, Agency Policies and Procedures and First Nation Community Codes of Conduct.

Qualifications
  • Social Services Diploma or a related diploma in Human Services
  • One (1) year experience in a Social Services Agency or a residential setting working directly with children and youth
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people, organizations and communities
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Other Requirements
  • Respect for, sensitivity towards as well as knowledge and understanding of Anishnawbek culture, traditions and the Seven Grandfather Teachings
  • Ability to understand and speak Anishnaabemowin is a definitive asset
  • Must provide a Criminal Records Check deemed satisfactory by the employer
  • Must have a Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel
  • Must have $1M automobile insurance coverage
