Job description

Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg-based company to recruit aCarpenter / Site Lead. This role will oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring smooth project flow. Responsibilities include maintaining site safety, coordinating sub-trades and material deliveries, verifying work quality against specifications, and ensuring projects progress according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized construction site in compliance with the Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health Act.
  • Provide direction to sub-trades to ensure work is completed on time and according to the schedule.
  • Coordinate the delivery and placement of materials on site.
  • Inspect work to confirm it meets specifications, quality standards, and is ready for inspections.
  • Monitor sub-trade progress and report weekly updates to the Construction Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a construction-related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience working with and managing construction trades on site.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
