A top-five Canadian bank is seeking a Business Analyst for a hybrid role in Toronto. The candidate will lead initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting various regulatory and business initiatives. Ideal applicants will have over 8 years of banking experience and 5 years specifically as a Business Analyst, including project management and proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with senior stakeholders. This is a 5-month contract with potential extension and full-time conversion.
Location: Hybrid - Toronto; 3 days per week on-site (flexible). Subject to change: 3–4 days on-site may be required based on business needs. Contract Duration: 5 months. Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE. Schedule: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday; standard 37.5 hours/week.

Business group: The Regulatory and Business Initiatives (RBI) group functions as the change‑management arm for the business, with a strong focus on data‑driven initiatives and operational transformation. The team leads and supports numerous change programs, partnering closely with business stakeholders to secure funding and deliver projects successfully. The group consists of approximately 40 team members across Canada and the U.S.
Project: The successful candidate will support HM’s portfolio of regulatory and business initiatives, contributing to one or two assigned projects at a time. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing initiatives to ensure strategies, plans, and deliverables comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and enterprise standards.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to a wide range of initiatives across the Bank’s Capital Markets business. The Regulatory and Business Initiatives (RBI) team operates with a high‑performing, consulting‑style mandate, offering an exceptional environment to develop project management capabilities and hands‑on delivery experience within a top‑five Canadian bank. This role provides a strong platform for professional growth, strategic impact, and visibility across senior stakeholders.

This candidate communicates confidently and professionally with senior stakeholders, anticipates what information is needed, and produces materials and documentation that require little to no revision before executive review.
Average Candidate: Understands core onboarding concepts but may require frequent guidance to navigate capital markets processes or manage complex client scenarios. Communication with senior stakeholders may lack confidence or clarity, and deliverables often require multiple rounds of feedback or refinement before they are presentation‑ready.
