Job description

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might be in the right place.

We’re looking for a Capital Collections Specialist to join our Capital Operations team. You’ll play a key role in helping Lightspeed merchants stay on track with their Capital advances — investigating issues, leading repayment conversations, and driving positive outcomes for both merchants and the business.

This role is available across Canada (preferably Montreal or Toronto), and we’re open to remote work as long as you can work 9 a.m.–5 p.m. EST.

What you’ll be doing
  • Manage a high-volume portfolio of delinquent Capital accounts (30–40 per day)
  • Conduct outbound calls and emails to understand repayment challenges
  • Investigate account discrepancies and identify root causes
  • Negotiate repayment plans, restructures, or settlements where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for every interaction
  • Meet cure rate and SLA targets to protect portfolio health
  • Collaborate with Risk, Capital, and Operations teams when files require escalation
  • Provide a respectful, human, and solutions-focused experience to every merchant
What you need to bring

We’re looking for a mid-level professional who has experience with:

  • Collections, financial services, lending, MCA, or similar customer-facing financial environments
  • Leading confident conversations on the phone — including challenging ones
  • Investigating and solving problems independently
  • Managing high-volume workloads while staying organized and detail-oriented
  • Communicating with empathy, clarity, and resilience
  • As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
  • Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with SMBs, POS systems, or fintech
  • Previous work in Capital, risk, recovery, or credit operations
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with documentation-heavy workflows
We know people are more than what’s on their CV.

If this sounds like the right challenge for you, hit Apply and let’s talk.

  • A flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work
  • A culture that celebrates performance and impact
  • The chance to make a difference in a team that’s big enough to grow, but lean enough for your voice to matter
  • Career-defining opportunities
  • Plus benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy and fulfilled:
  • Flexible paid time off & remote work options
  • Equity options — because this is your company too
  • Pension plan contributions
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Health & wellness credit
  • Paid time off to volunteer
  • Interest groups, social committees and employee-led networks
  • Computer purchase program (get your own MacBook!)
  • Enhanced parental leave
