The Adventure Program Director at Camp Glenburn will play a crucial role in delivering an engaging and challenging high and low ropes and climbing program for campers. With a focus on skill development, safety, and teamwork, you will oversee the operation of the adventure program, ensuring an enriching experience for both campers and staff. This includes leading and delivering a high-quality ropes and climbing program, managing the care and inventory of all gear and equipment, and developing and implementing comprehensive training sessions for staff and CIT participants.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute belay school and skill development sessions.
  • Maintain and log the use of adventure program equipment.
  • Implement emergency procedures for your area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with other directors to deliver a cohesive camp experience.
  • Supervise campers and ensure their safety during activities.
  • Help with other camp operations as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, educational environment at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in community, recreation, or youth program management.
  • Previous experience in a camp or youth program setting.
  • Ability to obtain C.U.I Certification (if not already obtained).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • A commitment to living on-site at Camp Glenburn from June to September.
  • Employment is contingent on clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Social Development Clearance Check.
