Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Business Unit Leader for Roads & Highways, Alberta for the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) in Canada.This position will lead our Roads & Highways team in Alberta. As a Business Unit Leader, you will be responsible for profitably growing the Alberta Roads and Highways business with GBA Mobility strategy and financial targets.

We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

Implementing the Mobility strategy:

  • Lead the business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance, service quality delivery within the unit; develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy to ensure service quality delivery, service excellence and profitable growth within the unit, to support the delivery of the line of business objectives
  • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives and reviewing performance to ensure staff are developed, driven and have the necessary skills to deliver the program objectives
  • Develop and implement the country business plan for the unit and ensure the team understand it, and the role that they play in its achievement, through the development of the appropriate culture and the provision of context and clarity
  • Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to deliver growth in organic revenue and win work in the country business unit

Build strong relationships and create successful teams:

  • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction to improve retention and deliver organic revenue growth
  • Coach and mentor practice group managers, service managers, project managers and technical managers within the Business Unit to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to, with the goal ofimproved client satisfaction
  • Lead the identification of talent in the business unit in both technical and project delivery capability and sales and promote career development by directing individuals who are identified, to the appropriate development programs
  • Lead decisions on resource utilization within the business unit and maintain the integrity of the unit composition and pyramid management structure to enable resource optimization
  • Lead the identification and management of risk in service delivery and ensure compliance with governance processes in the business unit to lead to service excellence and client satisfaction
  • Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the business unit’s clients and the market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities
  • Develop relationships throughout Arcadis to foster cooperation and to maximize opportunities to cross-sell and trade-up

  • 15 years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm

The salary range for this position is $128,000 - $178,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
