What is the Role?

The ERA is seeking a curious and organised professional to join us on a permanent basis as Business Support Officer within the Energy Markets Division.

The Business Support Officer plays a critical role in providing high-level executive and business support to the Energy Markets Division. This position ensures the smooth operation of the Division by managing a wide range of administrative and coordination tasks.

You will learn about what goes into keeping the lights on from Geraldton, out to Kalgoorlie, across the greater Perth Metropolitan area and down the south of the state. One day you could be managing our annual Energy Markets Forum where we engage with key external stakeholders, the next you might be managing wrangling public consultation submissions to help the team understand the concerns and input of the same stakeholders so we can deliver guidance to the market and support the effective functioning of the South West Interconnected System.

You will be working with a passionate group of people who are committed to making sure we are a proactive and effective regulator. You will be responsible for organising and managing internal and external meetings, assisting the Division in meeting legislative deadlines for the preparation and publication of reports and consultation papers, and undertaking small research and analytical projects. A key part of the role is supporting the delivery of projects, ensuring that internal processes and procedures are consistently applied across all activities.

In addition, you will assist staff with procurement and purchasing activities, while maintaining accurate and compliant records within the ERA’s record management system.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve the Division’s objectives.
