Job Title: Business Diversity Officer

Location: Corner Brook, NL

Position Type: 1 full-time position until March 31, 2026 with possibility of extension pending budget availability and operational needs

Closing date: Until filled


Reporting to the Diversity Coordinator, the Business Diversity Officer will be responsible for the development, preparation, and delivery of presentations and workshops while promoting cultural diversity-based programs and initiatives. In collaboration with ANC Satellite Offices across the province, the Business Diversity Officer will build and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders and assist with the efficient administration of the Diversity team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver, prepare, and schedule presentations and workshops to businesses, government, post-secondary institutions and community groups as required
  • Determine training requirements of partners and stakeholders
  • Recommend appropriate content, length, and delivery date of the presentation/workshop
  • Assist in the execution of internal and external communications, advertising, and program-specific content via email, Constant Contact, Facebook, and other platforms as needed
  • Complete fund development duties such as sponsorship acquisition for the annual Diversity Summit and special projects, government funding proposals, and ongoing stakeholder engagement
  • Attend relevant networking events, training, and professional development and represent the ANC on committees, boards and working groups as required
  • Assist in conducting outreach to existing and potential target groups and audiences to promote business-oriented diversity programming and to promote public education and cultural awareness
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and delivery of events such as the annual Diversity Summit and participate in ongoing project-based initiatives within and outside of the province.
  • Promote the Diversity Program, AIP Program, and other ANC programs and services available to newcomers
  • Build connections and form partnerships with industry stakeholders, government representatives, community groups, and post-secondary institutions
  • Prepare and submit monthly updates, timesheets, call sheets, and summary reports
  • Participate in staff/team meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • Knowledge of diversity-related issues and an interest in promoting diversity, workplace inclusion, and newcomer integration
  • Strong organization, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience in writing detailed reports, funding proposals, and conducting sponsorship pitches
  • Experience in event planning and assisting with project-based initiatives
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media and marketing platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to address the changing needs of the provincial landscape and local business community
  • Ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external

Conditions of Employment:

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
  • Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
