Technical Business Analyst – Digital Banking (Fired Up Service Excellence)
Location- Toronto- Downtown- Hybrid
Type- Contract until Oct 30th + Possibilities of Extension
Pay Rate- $90- $95 per hour on INC. +HST
One of our leading banking clients is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join their Canadian Banking team to support a high-profile initiative – Fired Up Service Excellence. This role is a new position created to support growth and scale across Digital Banking Engineering.
About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to support a large-scale, high-visibility project that directly contributes to the success of the Digital Banking Engineering Authority team in Canada. You will play a critical role in ensuring that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the team’s business strategies and objectives — all while ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic bridge across business stakeholders, control functions, technology partners and engineering teams within the Digital Banking unit.
- Support both project discovery and execution phases by working closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Business Ops and PMO teams.
- Drive end-to-end solutioning and estimations in collaboration with business and software architects as well as client application teams (Mobile, Web, etc.).
- Translate complex challenges into technical options and recommendations that influence business, product, and engineering decisions.
- Manage prioritization, solutioning, and estimation of change requests and provide scope clarifications to support delivery.
- Oversee delivery lifecycle to ensure business and functional goals are achieved for each release.
- Maintain and manage engineering backlogs for assigned microservices.
- Analyze non-project work (tech debt, production issues, architectural initiatives) and convert them into executable backlog items.
- Prioritize backlog items from multiple sources in partnership with Technical Product Managers; balance project delivery with ongoing priorities.
- Collaborate with Senior Development Managers on timelines and team capacity forecasts.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned microservices — oversee changes and provide guidance on improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of microservices for internal and external teams.
- Champion a customer-focused culture and strong stakeholder relationships, including digital product teams and business lines.
- Incorporate the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture into daily activities and decisions.
- Promote process improvements to enhance efficiency across project kick-off, planning, execution and reconciliation.

Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- 5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst with strong data focus
- Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
- Ability to translate business and governance requirements into technical deliverables
- Proven collaboration experience with Data Engineers, Architects and Developers
- Experience with API-based system integrations, including RESTful services and OAuth 2.0 authentication/authorization
Nice-to-Have
- Advanced SQL skills for data profiling, validation and analysis
- Strong background in data mapping, source-to-target specifications and ETL processes
- Recent hands-on experience in data governance, data quality and metadata management
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
