Part-Time Operator/Producer- 106.7 Rock

Who we\'re looking for:

We’re looking for a sports fan and aspiring broadcaster to join the 106.7 Rock team as a part-time Operator/Producer in Lethbridge, Alberta. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to operate and produce Lethbridge Hurricanes hockey broadcasts on 106.7 Rock, in addition to the potential for some part-time hours working with the station’s promotions department. You will partner with management and talent to ensure that the play-by-play of broadcasts is professionally produced. You will also be responsible for providing scores and statistics to the main announcer and potentially deliver sports scoreboards on-air yourself.

This role will report to the Content Director at 106.7 Rock. The position will include working nights and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Technical producer of play by play programming (WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes)
  • Monitor and edit audio content from internal and external sources
  • Organize scripts, sponsorship elements, and daily information required by the talent
  • Be a liaison between Promo/Sales/Programming and on-air talent
  • Attend regular content and programming meetings as needed
Qualifications
  • Passion for hockey and sports in general is an asset
  • Social Media savviness is a must
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
  • Creativity and the ability to innovate new ideas
  • Team-first attitude with a drive and determination to complete tasks with others
  • Working knowledge of audio editing software is an asset
  • Graduate from (or enrollment in) a radio broadcasting or journalism program is an asset
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
