Candidates should demonstrate expertise in areas relevant to governance and academia, including First Nations education and financial management. This role aims to strengthen the university's mission through effective leadership and insights from seasoned professionals.
FIRST NATIONS UNIVERSITY OF CANADA – Nomination/Applications for Board of Governors
The First Nations University of Canada is seeking applications or nominations for the Board of Governors. The nominations or applications should include a cover letter clearly stating the areas of expertise and reasons for interest along with a curriculum vitae or resume.
Qualifications:
The Selection Committee will endeavour to select board members with the following areas of expertise: Governance, business and general management; Financial management; Academic (university policies and processes); Academic (education administration); First Nations education (15-20 years teaching experience); Community-based traditional knowledge keeper or educator (knowledge about indigenous governance, language and traditional knowledge); Institutional fund development; Corporate law; and Labour relations.
