Summary

The BIM Modeler is responsible for using multiple software platforms to create construction drawings and models in support of project needs and pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models of structural steel, concrete, masonry, earthwork, topography and other divisions of work as requested.
  • Provide means & methods drawing support for field operations.
  • Create and maintain concrete and masonry lift drawings and various other models and drawings of topography, concrete and masonry reinforcing shop drawings, structural steel, piping, or others as needed.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and enforcement of the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project-specific VDC implementation strategy, ensuring adherence by internal teams and external trade partners.
  • Define project-specific modeling standards and coordinate data protocols based on standards such as ISO 19650 and Level of Development (LOD) specifications.
  • Serve as the Project Model Administrator, managing the Common Data Environment (CDE) for model version control, data validation, and documentation distribution to project stakeholders.
  • Create presentation-quality 3D models from 2D drawings for proposals, preconstruction, and construction.
  • Develop/review project 3D models and provide constructability reviews, clash detection, quantity takeoffs, coordination, and phasing analysis.
  • Oversee the production, management, and auditing of 3D models in collaboration with subcontractors and design partners.
  • Assist in creating 4D Project schedules by using Revit, Navisworks and the project schedule to create 3D models of the construction sequence.

Education, Experience, And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and a minimum of 5 years of construction and CAD/BIM experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency utilizing Revit and AutoCAD is required; prior exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, Navisworks, Assemble and Blender is preferred.
  • Ability to link/import 2D/3D dwg or pdf files for use in creating Revit models.
  • Ability to modify and create Revit Families.
  • Ability to create fully detailed construction drawings using Revit or AutoCAD.
  • A thorough understanding of construction means and methods.

Work Environment

This position is hybrid remote. Employee is required to report to the St. Louis Alberici office part time.

The office work environment provides a safe and healthy environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is normally exposed to a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to: moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; close tight quarters; rough and sloped terrain; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; the potential of falling rock; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in this work environment is generally loud.
