Job Description

Our FYidoctors - Dieppe clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optometric Assistant.

This position is a full‑time role working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday.

You will play a critical role within FYidoctors by delivering world‑class service to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients everyday. As our newest Optometric Assistant you’ll often be the first point of contact with the public, and your responsibilities will include front desk reception, pre‑testing and the retail sale of eyewear.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
  • Checking patients in and out of the office
  • Communicating with patients in person, by phone, and by email
  • Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments
  • Administering pre‑testing services
  • Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
  • Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assisting with the selection of frames to suit their aesthetic and performance needs
  • Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
  • Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments to returning patients’
  • Placing Contact Lens orders and assisting with fittings
  • Upholding excellent customer service standards
What Do You Bring?
  • Bilingualism English/French
  • Previous optical experience is required
  • Previous experience in a customer‑facing, preferably retail environment preferred
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • A high level of comfort using technology and computers
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
