Qualifications

  • Completion of GBA / CEBS courses is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assess historical claims experience for financial reports.

As part of our experienced Group Underwriting team, you will review, analyze and interpret financial information to prepare new business quotations; review and assess historical claims experience to prepare financial reports for renewals; and handle inquiries, amendments and rate negotiations in a timely manner. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts throughout this process.

Responsibilities
  • Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships with fluency in English and French
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a group benefits underwriting role is preferred
  • Candidates must have post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge in the pricing of both manual and experience rated benefits is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of multiple financial arrangements including non-refund, ASO and retention accounting is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of group insurance products is preferred
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Completion of GBA / CEBS courses would be considered an asset
