Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Batch Truck Driver to support our precast manufacturing operations. The Ideal candidate will be responsible for safe operation of the concrete truck while mixing transporting and pouring concrete into production beds.

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently operate the manual rear discharge or automatic front discharge mixer truck.
  • Maneuver trucks into position under hoppers to be loaded.
  • Mixing and slumping uploads may be required.
  • Must be able to pour all casting beds in front or rear discharge truck.
  • Communicate with batcher / drivers when loading concrete in truck.
  • Operate the frontend loader to move material and fill hoppers.
  • Spray trucks or surfaces with protective compounds to resist concrete adhesion and for specialized cleaning.
  • Perform pre-trip inspection for the mixer truck and loader.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Trucks and Loader. (Greasing topping up fluids)
  • Keep the truck clean of concrete build up and clean regularly after discharging concrete. (Chutes hopper drum)
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out Try Out (LOTOTO) standard working procedure for various equipment when performing maintenance.
  • Pressure wash or chisel mixer when required.
  • Knowledge of batching plant schematics is an asset.
  • Helps the Batch Utility person in plant with daily maintenance. (Greasing belts blowing out filters cleaning debris under belts.)
  • Help pour meter blocks and clean the Batch plant regularly.
  • Must be able to work overtime.
Education And / Or Experience
  • Front End Loader Certificate
  • Ontario G Drivers License
  • Completion of a high school diploma is an asset.
  • Previous Ready-Mix experience in the concrete industry is an asset.
  • Certified forklift training is an asset.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job you are regularly required to stand for extended periods of time lift climb push-pull kneel crouch twist bend and stoop.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
Work Environment
  • May require walking on terrain that may be uneven muddy and slippery.
  • Exposure to dust cement powder water mist or vapor.
Hours Of Work
  • 8 hours a day Monday to Friday. Working hours are subject to change based on business needs.
  • Must be available to work weekends as required by the business needs.
  • Must have a willingness to work overtime as required.
