Job Description

Baan Lao Fine Thai Cuisine is seeking a talented, personable, and intelligent 'Fine Dining' server with wine experience. If you have strong confidence, attention to detail and thrive in a fine dining environment, we would like to hear from you.

You will be responsible for greet and serving guest, crafting and serving a variety of wine, high-quality cocktails and beverages to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving, have excellent customer service skills, and, have the ability to create unique and delicious drink recipes.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Baan Lao, committed to providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Create a pleasant, welcoming, and respectful environment for all guests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Properly manage the flow of each meal for an optimum guest experience.
  • Be extremely knowledgeable about every menu item and able to convey a meaningful description for all guest inquiries.
  • Be comfortable and confident making food and drink recommendations to guests.
  • Work with the maître d’ and/or management team to address all guest concerns promptly.
  • Accurately record and relay all food and drink orders.
  • Set tables, adhering to brand standards; support the service team and floor manager on shift.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met for service, cleanliness and food presentation.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with chefs and bartenders; collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders.
  • Tend bar and mix cocktails; prepare and serve a wide range of beverages; maintain bar cleanliness and organization.
  • Create unique and innovative drink recipes that meet customer preferences.
  • Adhere to safety and health regulations; comply with laws; follow safety and sanitation policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma is required.
  • 2+ years of server experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Sommelier/Mixologist with certificate/diploma in Sommelier/Mixology (WSET 2).
  • Previous Thai food restaurant experience preferred.
  • Understanding of FoodSafe and liquor regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail; team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong memory for names and faces.
  • Experience with restaurant POS software; knowledge of various alcoholic beverages and cocktail techniques.
  • Formal hospitality training is an asset; wine/tea knowledge is an asset; math skills for measuring ingredients and cash handling.
  • Legible handwriting; positive, guest-focused attitude; time management during peak hours.
