Join our Team at Lacombe Food Store!

Are you dedicated to providing exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments? Lacombe Food Store presents the perfect opportunity for you! We're currently looking for a Baker to join our dynamic team.

Position: Baker

Full-time: 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.

Availability: Weekdays and weekends- Early mornings (4:00 am start) and afternoons

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Plan and schedule bakery production according to needs for adequate sales
  • Maintain product quality standards and suggest new items to enhance selection
  • Assist in organizing, directing, and coordinating the Bakery to achieve budgeted goals
  • Supervise the production of baked products in the absence of the Bakery Manager
  • Assist in the supervision of staff in the general operation of the Bakery
  • Place orders with FCL and approved suppliers for all ingredients and supplies according to production requirements
  • Check, receive, and unpack orders
  • Maintain temperature logs and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines
  • Bake or deep-fry products in accordance with established standards
  • Stay informed about Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls and CAC’s required response, and provide customers with current information
  • Practice safe food handling and wear appropriate attire
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, following proper sanitation procedures and maintaining housekeeping logs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

  • Prior bakery experience
  • Cake decorating skills
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required
  • Applicants must be over 14 years old. (Employment Standards mandates a permit to employ a person aged 14 or under, thus disclosure is required.)
