Qualifications

Job description

Reporting to the Retrofit Field Supervisor, the B‑Pressure Welder is responsible for executing fabrication projects in accordance with welding procedures, working collaboratively with other employees, becoming efficient with welding techniques, meeting Enerflex’s quality expectations, and learning all aspects of the job as required. The candidate will focus on safety, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction while performing all duties of the position.

This position is based out of the Red Deer branch of Enerflex.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Read and interpret welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes.
  • Ensure all welding equipment is clean and functional.
  • Participate in, accept, and adopt the safety principles.
  • Clamping and structural support of pipe systems.
  • Assist with installing pressure vessels and piping systems.
  • Operate picker truck for hoisting and lifting devices.
Qualifications
  • Hold a valid B Pressure Welder Certificate and must pass a shop “B” Pressure weld test.
  • Minimum 3 years directly related field service work experience.
  • Tickets in WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive are assets.
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational and people skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with variety of Tradesmen.
  • Picker truck operators license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
  • Ability to travel and work extended shift rotations in the field.
  • Commitment to promoting and being a part of a safe work environment.
  • Experience in vessel or process pipe, preferably with natural gas compressor packages.
  • Experience working on new and used piping systems.
  • This position may be required to direct, coach and mentor Junior B Welders.
  • Ability to work overtime or shift work.
  • Results oriented and a team player.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre‑employment health assessment including a drug and alcohol test.
