At PwC, our people in strategy consulting focus on providing strategic guidance and insights to organisations. They analyse market trends, assess business performance, and develop recommendations to help clients achieve their goals. These individuals work closely with clients to identify opportunities for growth, optimise operations, and enhance overall business performance. In technology strategy at PwC, you will specialise in developing and implementing strategic plans to leverage technology for business growth and innovation. You will analyse market trends, assess organisational needs, and provide guidance on technology investments and initiatives. Working in this area, you will collaborate with stakeholders to align technology strategies with overall business objectives to increase utilisation of technology resources, driving competitive advantage.

Meaningful work you’ll be a part of

As an Azure Developer, you will be responsible for building, deploying, and optimizing applications and services on Microsoft Azure. They design and implement cloud‑native solutions using Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), while integrating APIs, databases, and messaging systems to deliver scalable applications. Their role includes writing code in languages like C#, Python, or JavaScript, automating deployments with CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as ARM templates or Bicep. Azure Developers also embed security and compliance practices, implement monitoring and logging, and collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure applications are reliable, cost‑efficient, and aligned with organisational goals.

  • You will architect and maintain Python‑based microservices leveraging frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, and Flask, building both RESTful and asynchronous APIs. Your work will span across relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring scalable and reliable data management.

  • On the infrastructure side, you will deploy and operate services on Azure, while also leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies to support diverse workloads. You will define and optimize CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code templates, and automated testing workflows, enabling rapid, secure, and consistent delivery.

  • Security and reliability are core to the role. You will implement enterprise‑grade authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, OpenID, SSO), enforce high availability and compliance baselines, and troubleshoot complex production issues to maintain optimal performance.

  • Beyond technical delivery, you will play a leadership role: conducting architecture and code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across product and platform teams to align on best practices. Candidates with contributions to open source projects, technical blogs, or experience with platforms like Backstage or Temporal.io will be highly valued, as these demonstrate thought leadership and community engagement.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
  • Proven 5-7 years of hands‑on experience in Azure Data Engineering, delivering complex production solutions with deep proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage Gen2. Expert in SQL, Python, PySpark for large‑scale processing, diverse data ingestion (real‑time, APIs, SFTP), and designing end‑to‑end ELT, data warehousing (star schema), and data lake (Medallion) architectures, alongside required DP‑203 certification (or commitment to obtain).

  • Skilled in building, deploying, and optimizing scalable Azure cloud‑native applications (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, AKS) using C#, Python, or JavaScript. Drives automation through CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM, Bicep) for efficient resource provisioning and management.

  • Ensures application reliability, security, and cost‑efficiency by implementing robust monitoring, logging, and compliance practices. Effectively collaborates with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to align solutions with organisational goals.

  • Deep understanding of data storage optimisation within ADLS Gen2, including file format selection (e.g., Delta, Parquet), partitioning strategies, and data lifecycle management for cost and performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex, ambiguous data problems in a production environment, including performance tuning and root cause analysis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Azure Cloud Application Development: Expert in designing, building, deploying, and optimizing scalable applications on Microsoft Azure using services like App Services, Functions, AKS, and integrating APIs/messaging systems.

  • Full‑Stack & Microservices Development: Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask) for RESTful/asynchronous microservices, alongside C# and modern JavaScript/jQuery for front‑end development and internal developer portal enhancement.

  • DevOps & Cloud Automation: Expertise in defining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM, Bicep), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless technologies.

  • Data Management: Proficient in working with both relational and NoSQL databases for scalable and reliable data solutions.

  • Security & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Implementing enterprise‑grade authentication (OAuth2, OpenID, SSO), ensuring high availability, compliance, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting complex production issues.

  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to conduct architecture/code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate effectively across product, platform, and business stakeholders.

  • Thought Leadership & Community Engagement: (Highly valued) Contributions to open‑source projects, technical blogs, or experience with platforms like Backstage/Temporal.io.
