Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced AV Network Administrator to support and enhance our IP-based media infrastructure within our Demonstration and Tradeshows team. This role is responsible for the configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of our AV-over-IP systems, hybrid SDI/IP signal paths, and Demonstration and Tradeshow network infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with NDI, Dante, and SMPTE ST 2110 workflows, along with a solid IT networking foundation. In addition, you will support web‑based applications used in production workflows and develop lightweight automation tools for remote control and monitoring and scripts using Python and JavaScript to streamline and improve operational efficiency. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with the Product, Services, and Sales teams to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and ready to support Demonstration and Tradeshow events.

What the job is all about:
  • Design, deploy, monitor, and maintain AV/IP network infrastructure including switches, routers, VLANs, IGMP multicast, QoS, and PTP (Precision Time Protocol).
  • Configure, support, and optimize media‑over‑IP formats including SMPTE ST 2110 (2110‑10/20/30/40), NDI, Dante, NMOS and related IP media standards.
  • Administer multicast routing, DSCP/QoS policies, and redundancy methods such as ST 2022‑7.
  • Support AV systems (cameras, intercom, switchers, multiviewers, routers) and integrate them into hybrid SDI/IP environments.
  • Support and maintain web‑based applications, dashboards, control interfaces, and internal tools used in broadcast operations.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, small utilities, or integration tools using Python and JavaScript to assist with configuration, monitoring, diagnostics, and workflow automation.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose issues in real time, and provide high‑level support, both remotely and onsite.
  • Create and maintain documentation including network diagrams, device configurations, and Troubleshooting / Maintenance Guides.
  • Participate in system planning, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives related to IP media workflows.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to technicians and junior staff.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices for AV‑over‑IP installations and broadcast technology.
Who you are:
  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Networking, Broadcast Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3‑5 years or more of experience in a broadcast, Live AV, or IP Networking environment.
  • Proven expertise with:
  • NDI workflows in live production
  • Dante audio networking including Controller and device configuration
  • SMPTE ST 2110 (video, audio, PTP, and ancillary data)
  • Strong networking knowledge: IP routing, switching, VLANs, multicast (IGMP), QoS/DSCP, L2/L3 fundamentals, and network monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting live, real‑time AV/IP systems in high‑pressure production environments.
  • Experience supporting web apps (monitoring dashboards, control UIs, internal tools, or production web services).
  • Hands‑on development and scripting experience using Python and JavaScript, including API integrations, automation tasks, and custom tooling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to support / attend after‑hours or weekend events as needed.
  • Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AES67, Ravenna, NMOS (IS‑04, IS‑05), and ST 2022‑6/7.
  • Experience with control systems, orchestration platforms, or broadcast device APIs.
  • Knowledge of cloud‑based or virtualized production environments.
  • Experience with DevOps‑style tooling (Git, REST APIs, containerization) considered an asset.
