Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing or restoring vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  1. Review damage reports and repair estimates, and plan the work to be performed.
  2. Thoroughly examine collision damage, including exterior body parts, power accessories, warning lights, and prior damages.
  3. Perform structural and body repairs, including replacing and repairing front end components, doors, frames, and underbody parts.
  4. Straighten bent frames using frame pulling and anchoring equipment, and repair dents and defects.
  5. Weld on vehicles using MIG welders and spot welders.
  6. Disassemble damaged vehicle areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair process.
  7. File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using appropriate tools.
  8. Prepare surfaces for painting, including masking, priming, and repainting.
  9. Use soldering equipment or plastic fillers to fill holes and seams.
  10. Restore vehicles to factory specifications and perform quality inspections and test drives.
  11. Read and understand repair estimates and procedures.
  12. Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
  13. Utilize frame and measuring equipment, and perform disassembly and reassembly tasks.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience.
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License or in a registered apprenticeship program (preferred but not mandatory).
  • I-Car and OEM certifications are advantageous.
  • Welding certification (I-Car Welding preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, stand, sit, walk, and reach.
  • Valid driver's license and own tools and safety footwear.
  • Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, Worker Health and Safety, Workplace Violence and Harassment, PIPEDA).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Mitchell/Audatex.
