Within EY Parthenon the Transaction Real Estate team is one of the largest integrated real estate practices in Canada providing strategy valuation and transaction services to real estate owners developers investors lenders and users. Our national practice helps address complex and demanding challenges drawing upon our knowledge experience and insight to help clients implement their real estate strategy.   • Strategic Advisory Services

We help clients to achieve their potential from development to disposition of assets and all steps in between including oversight governance highest and best use and portfolio rationalization.

  • Valuation Advisory Services

Our team has been involved with some of the largest and most challenging real estate valuations for the purposes of disposition purchase price allocation of multi-billion dollar transactions shareholder disputes butterfly transactions litigation and restructuring.

  • Transaction Advisory Services

We provide an integrated service offering that supports the client through every step of the transaction process from strategy development through to transaction execution and closing.

Your key responsibilities

As an Associate / Senior Associate (Manager) you will have the opportunity to work and become a leader within our Transaction Real Estate specialty practice. You will have an integral role that involves working closely with other members of the rapidly growing national team to execute a variety of real estate mandates.

  • Act as project lead on a diverse range of real estate mandates including strategy valuation and transactions.
  • Valuation of various types of real estate assets and portfolios in support of various types of engagements including core valuation due-diligence and transactions.
  • Development review and maintenance of financial models.
  • Development of public and private sector real estate strategies and portfolio plans.
  • Synthesize market information to be used in valuation appraisals competitive analysis industry analysis negotiation support and various other applications.
  • Compiling reviewing and analyzing relevant company and industry information originating from a broad variety of sources (such as financial databases industry publications and financial statements and public disclosures)
  • Assist in real estate due diligence for buy-side or sell-side transactions.
  • Continuous review of Canadian real estate market trends.
  • Support the team in the preparation of both internal and external presentations.
  • Support the team in business development and marketing initiatives across the country.
We are interested in candidates who have
  • Associate : 5 years of related work experience.
  • Senior Associate : 7 years of related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree (preferably with a focus on real estate and / or finance).
  • Willingness to work towards an AACI designation is an asset.
  • An understanding of the commercial real estate industry in Canada.
  • Understanding of key real estate value drivers risks and opportunities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong computer and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to systematically manage multiple projects and meet stringent deadlines
  • Solid technology skills with robust knowledge of Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge or interest in real estate processes operations and / or asset management
  • Keen interest in working with both public and private sector clients

The successful candidate for this position will have strong written and verbal communication / presentation skills superior analytical skills demonstrated project and / or people management skills and have been recognized for their participatory attitude and high levels of creative energy and enthusiasm.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $84000 to $132000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and work location city.
