Job description

We are currently seeking applicants for a Associate Optometrist position to assist our client. We welcome you to submit your application, if you are interested.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye health.
  • Diagnose and treat ocular diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) based on patient needs and lifestyle considerations.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing ocular surgeries.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care techniques, lens options, and available treatments.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed for holistic patient care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in optometric practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Active license to practice optometry in Alberta, Canada.
