About The Position

Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology invites applications from qualified and passionate individuals interested in teaching Electrical Apprenticeship courses on a part‑time basis for the School of Applied Science, Engineering, Technology & Trades, pending sufficient enrolment. This role is part‑time, starting in January 2026. Classes will be held in person at the Lambton College Sarnia campus. Rate of pay is to be determined at time of hire in accordance with education & qualifications based on the classification form in the Collective Agreement.

Specific Accountabilities
  • Provide instruction to students and apprentices in electrical theory and practical skills.
  • Create a positive teaching and learning environment conducive to student success.
  • Prepare and update lesson plans using effective teaching techniques and current technologies applicable to electricians.
  • Deliver courses aligned with curriculum standards for electrician certification.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and examinations relevant to electrical training.
  • Monitor student performance, maintain progress reports, and support student achievement.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with students regarding coursework and expectations.
  • Adhere to the Academic Calendar and all relevant policies and procedures of Lambton College and OntarioLearn.
Qualifications
  • Certified Electrician (309A or 442A) – not required to teach all courses; candidates with a certification will be given priority consideration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring apprentices is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Team player committed to student‑centered education.
  • Proficiency in instructional technology relevant to electrical training.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft applications.
