WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The RiskHub Risk Services team within RBC Capital Markets Quantitative and Technology Services is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve technology management and risk governance across the organization. In this role, you will be working closely as a cross-asset business analyst and project manager with the RiskHub Development manager, Product Owner and their teams to come up with coherent roadmap for deliverables as well managing the daily agile processes and global status reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery Management: drive prioritization and successful completion of key projects in flight and initiation of new projects; serve as point of escalation for delivery of projects; and ensure that all standard project management artefacts, meetings, communications, etc. are in place and effective.
  • Financial Management: proactively manage IT budget and forecasting; drive planning efforts; monthly review of Capital and NIE YTD and balance of year forecast with IT and the Business including explanations for variances.
  • Technology Risk Management: proactive delivery, technology, and vendor risk management; strong governance – simplify and re-communicate project and development standards to the team; collaborate internally and across Capital Markets IT to leverage lessons learned and alternative solutions; ongoing vendor/contract/invoice management activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: ensure PMO capabilities and artefacts are robust and consistent; effective communications – increased frequency, simplified and repeatable messaging with Business, IT, Operations and all other key stakeholders including external vendors; meet regularly with stakeholders and achieve trusted advisor level of trust.
What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Degree educated, with emphasis on numeracy
  • 5-7 years experience along with extensive knowledge of end to end capital markets derivative trade flows
  • Strong business knowledge of derivative and cash products (FX, IR, Credit & Equities)
  • Proven experience in managing projects and implementing project governance
  • Proven experience in the research and writing of business functional requirements
  • Experience in managing diverse capital market projects as well as testing in complex IT environments

Nice-to-have:

  • Some experience in business analysis within regulatory projects is preferred
  • Should have exposure and be comfortable with technologies: some coding experience preferred (python, SQL)
  • Experience in testing of Capital Market deliverables
  • Proficient at data manipulation and quality analysis using excel and other database and analytical tools and programming languages (e.g. python/SQL).
