In keeping with our technology‑enhanced learning environment, Ontario Tech seeks faculty members who will explore and develop effective pedagogical applications of technology in Computer Science education. The successful applicant will be expected to strive for teaching excellence, which can include some pedagogical research. The Computer Science program at Ontario Tech aims to provide students with experiential, active, and knowledge‑based learning experiences. Teaching responsibilities will include the delivery of undergraduate courses and may also include the development and oversight of hands‑on labs. Expertise in teaching systems programming, operating systems, and computer networks would be considered an asset.

In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the growth, development, and outreach efforts of Faculty of Science programs by participating on governance committees, helping to develop and support innovative initiatives, and engaging in other activities in support of the Faculty and Ontario Tech. The candidate is expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and to model those skills in their own teaching in the university’s web‑centric and mobile learning environment.

Teaching Faculty members follow a 70% Teaching, 20% Service, and 10% Other Commitments workload each year.
