Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Construction Manager, as the Assistant Site Superintendent you will oversee on-site construction activities and assist in ensuring construction follows established design and quality. You also enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring sites are clean, safe and secure. Installing and maintaining temporary walkways, stairs, ramps, and handrails, ensuring safe access and egress to construction sites.
- Liaising and maintaining positive relationships with trade partners and suppliers. Monitoring work and ensuring it meets Qualico’s standards and all building and safety code requirements.
- Completing repairs and handling general deficiencies, such as framing, painting, window installation etc.
- Supporting Site Superintendent in monitoring project progress and schedules, and completing regular progress reports, checklists, log book entries and other reports as required.
- Supervising and providing guidance to onsite team members. Ensuring clear direction is given and work is carried out in a safe manner.
- Conducting pre-possession walkthroughs with homeowners, documenting deficiencies, and working with Client Care Coordinator to resolve all prior to possession.
- Conducting final inspection with homeowners on possession day to confirm completion of deficiencies and document any outstanding.
- Resolving homeowner concerns in a professional and timely manner to ensure delivery of excellent customer service.
- Working with the Client Care Coordinator to arrange or schedule customer appointments and provide details on resolution of deficiencies.
- Completing quality control inspections and repairs for deficiencies or coordinate with trades to complete repairs, ensuring compliance with quality standard.
- Accompanying trades on service calls when required. Documenting and notifying Client Care Coordinator of any outstanding deficiencies or concerns.
- Negotiating mutually agreeable solutions for homeowners and trades to resolve concerns and / or disputes when necessary.
- Following instructions from the Site Superintendent and completing other tasks as required.
- Promoting a safe work environment and ensuring all employees and trades work in a safe manner and following Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety legislation.

Essential Requirements
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the Residential Construction industry.
- Good understanding of construction processes and procedures.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and construction management software (BuildPro, NewStar or similar).

Work Conditions
You primarily work on-site Monday to Friday, during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment / machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Travel to the regional office or other site locations is required. Overtime may occasionally be required.
