What You'll Be Doing
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at all times.
  • Lead and coordinate emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity plans.
  • Serve as the primary contact for emergency services, including police and fire departments.
  • Conduct incident investigations and reporting for violations, accidents, complaints, and criminal activity.
  • Monitor CCTV and security systems, ensuring proactive threat detection and timely action.
  • Conduct regular patrols, crowd control, and cash handling audits.
  • Manage key control, access systems, and elevator security protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on Fire Panel operations and maintenance.
  • Train, guide, and mentor security personnel; lead fire‑life safety, CPR, evacuation, and workplace violence prevention training.
  • Facilitate onboarding and safety orientations for new colleagues.
  • Conduct periodic security and safety audits, including baggage and locker inspections.
  • Partner with Sales, Events, and F&B teams to ensure the safety of all functions and activities.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate loss prevention and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and keep management informed of major events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Your Experience & Skills Include
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Security or Loss Prevention (hotel or similar environment preferred).
  • Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid BC Security Worker License and Basic Security Training (BST) required.
  • Intermediate First Aid (WorkSafeBC) or OFA2 equivalent with CPR/AED certification preferred.
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) designation is a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and security management systems.
  • Reliable, responsible, and adaptable; able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights.
  • Knowledge of security inspection protocols and safety regulations.
