Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent and innovative research in mental health and well-being, and develop an externally funded research program.
  • Establish an undergraduate and graduate teaching program at the University of Toronto on the St. George campus, with the potential to teach topics such as psychopathology, psychotherapy, clinical science, mental health psychology, addictions, social determinants of health and well-being, or related areas.
  • Teach in collaboration with existing departmental strengths and contribute to program development in psychology.
  • Contribute to the academic community through collaboration, supervision, and mentorship of students and junior researchers.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Psychology or a related area by appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
  • Research program with applications to mental health and/or well-being, aligned with core departmental areas: developmental psychology; perception, cognition and cognitive neuroscience; social and personality psychology; or behavioural neuroscience.
  • Teaching experience or potential in undergraduate courses (e.g., psychopathology, psychotherapy, clinical science, mental health psychology, addictions, social determinants of health and well-being) and, optionally, statistics.
  • Evidence of research excellence (publications, research statement, conference presentations, awards, strong referee endorsements) and strong teaching evidence (teaching dossier, statements, course materials, teaching evaluations, or equivalent).
  • Ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic environment and collaborate within interdisciplinary research and teaching activities.
