What will I be doing?

The Assistant Manager, Slope Maintenance is responsible for helping to create a community of employees united by purpose and fun. This position assists in ensuring the best and safest on-hill product is produced and maintained. They plan, supervise, and coordinate the activities of teams engaged in grooming, snowmaking, and trail maintenance tasks.

  • Coordinate maintenance and timely reporting of equipment issues to maximize up time, working closely with operations mechanics to ensure safe, reliable equipment is being used in the field.
  • Promotes a keen eye for detail within the teams, ensuring high standards for quality of snow, grooming conditions and appearance of fencing, padding, and ribboning.
  • Establishes clear communication lines between snowmaking, grooming and trail maintenance to ensure work efforts are coordinated to achieve high quality results while maintaining positive working relationships within the teams.
  • Promotes a high degree of safety awareness & oversees safety training through the teams, including but not limited to: Snowmobile operation, Heavy Equipment operation, working around high pressured air/water and noise, and operation of all related equipment on slopes.
  • Maximize efficiency during heavy periods of snowmaking & grooming through the use of follow ups with the team and site checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly, minimizing down time.
  • Plan and provide standardized on-boarding and training, including all proper documentation, weighted heavily on productivity and safety compliance.
  • Manage performance and motivate by setting clear expectations, measuring productivity, coaching, addressing concerns, and recognizing achievements.
