Job Description

As a Halifax Tides FC Athletic Therapist you will support the delivery of comprehensive athletic therapy services for the First Team. Working under the direction of the Head Athletic Therapist and alongside the Integrated Support Team (IST), this role focuses on injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and player readiness for training and competition. This position is ideal for a motivated practitioner with experience in high-performance soccer environments who is eager to contribute to a professional women’s soccer program while continuing to grow professionally.

Position Expectations
Player Care & Injury Management
  • Assist with the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic injuries.
  • Support the delivery of individualized rehabilitation and return-to-play programs.
  • Provide pitch-side medical coverage for training sessions and matches as assigned.
  • Monitor player wellness, recovery, and physical readiness in collaboration with performance staff.
Rehabilitation & Performance Support
  • Assist rehabilitation sessions under the guidance of the Head Athletic Therapist.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to support injury prevention, recovery, and performance.
  • Contribute to training modifications and return-to-training progressions.
Medical Operations & Collaboration
  • Assist with medical documentation, reporting, and communication with physicians and medical staff.
  • Support coordination with insurance providers and external healthcare professionals as required.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and inventory of medical equipment and supplies.
Additional Duties
  • Support matchday operations and team travel as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned in support of club and department goals.
Position Specific Qualifications
Required
  • Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)) in good standing with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA).
  • Current Sports First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a high-performance, collegiate, semi-professional, or professional soccer environment.
  • Experience assisting with medical reporting and communication to physicians and supervisors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary sport medicine or Integrated Support Team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Prolonged standing and physical demands; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
