What you’ll do:

Here is a sample of what your workdays may look like:

  • Oversee multiple assets including plants, stations, and pipelines.
  • Partner with area operations and commercial personnel to ensure personal & process safety, environmental, reliability, regulatory compliance, and business objectives are achieved.
  • Identifytechnical issues, risks, and value adding opportunities and then support in appropriatelyaddressing them through application of company and engineering managementsystem programs.
  • Provideengineering leadership and participation in management of change (MOC),incident and failure analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Represent engineering as a key stakeholder on the Local Asset Team (LAT), driving initiatives to completion and clearly communicating engineering risks to the LAT and Leadership.
  • Support capital processes by completing engineering investigations to provide root causes for solution development.
  • Develop/delegate generation of new project justification (NPJ) documentation for the asset 5-year plans and provide subject matter expertinput through project execution by understanding the system limitation of the assets.
  • Provide engineering support for turnarounds, equipment outages and layups. Ensure Integrity/Engineering Scope of Work are completed on schedule and budget and that any deviations are clearly explained, elevated, and approved.
  • Provide accountability for engineering issues and ensure resolution by leveragingresources that may include in-house technical staff and/or consultants or contractors.
  • Ensure codes, regulations, and company and professional engineering requirements,practices, and standards are adhered to and consistently applied.
  • Fosterwin-win relationships with management teams, functional groups, operationspersonnel, project team members, key stakeholders and contractors.
  • Communicate risks, status, and actionsthrough established reporting methods to ensure management and stakeholders are informed.

What you bring:

Required

  • University degree in mechanical, electrical, or process engineeringdiscipline.
  • Professional Engineering designation registered with one of the Canadian provincial associations.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience as an engineer within the natural gas processing industry.
  • Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g. CSA, API, ASME) and familiarity with schematic drawings (P&ID, PFD).
  • Valid driver’slicense and ability to travel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computerapplications including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of pipeline standards and industry accepted practices, specifically CSA Z662 design code.
  • Experience applying root cause failure analysis (RCFA),hazard analysis, and risk assessment principles.
  • Field-based engineering experience.
  • Candidatesresidingin or near Fort St. John, BC.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $125,000. Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate and will be aligned to internal equity.
