Job Title: User Experience (UX) Designer – Expert (Senior Product Designer)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Onsite) | (4-days / Week)
Duration: 12+ Months

Position Purpose:
User Experience Designer translates customer needs and brand requirements into experiences that the team can execute on. The UX Designer executes client centred, effective and usable interaction and visual design as a part of a multi‑disciplinary scrum (Agile) team. Working closely with the product owner to translate brand requirements and customer needs into experiences that the developers can execute on. Impact the strategy for products from the earliest stages ensuring the user experience aligns with customer expectations and follows style guide and look‑and‑feel conventions.
Key Accountabilities
- 20% for the Salesforce tactical delivery team,
- 60% focused work on larger visioning (1‑2 year) initiatives to set the roadmap for the team.
- Design delivery - Lead the ideation and experience design of complex web, mobile and cloud solutions.
- Define data architecture and interfaces – from visioning to production/execution
- Determine the business rules, design interactions and client flows for the client experience and support the documentation of business requirements
- Define practical user experiences, including storytelling, personas, process flows and interactions.
- Create design assets including user scenarios, user ecosystem diagrams, competitor analyses, and wireframes
- Consult with Product Owner, Scrum team, customers and users in decision making surrounding user flows, sitemaps, layout, styling and technical feasibility
- Stakeholder management and communications
- Plan, execute and present wireframe mock‑ups and proof of concepts to stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met and sell the vision behind user experiences to key stakeholders
- Act as single point of contact for all project UX related status, including but not limited to presenting status during stand‑ups and demos
- Actively improve scope of knowledge, refine designs, and recommend solution improvements by gathering live customer data, conducting market research, testing and interviews
- Analyze industry best practices, client feedback, new vendor offerings and learnings from metrics tracking, and market competitive analysis; identifies, discusses with product owner and executes opportunities for improvements to the client experience, products, tools, etc.
- Perform required analytics to monitor client behaviour metrics (Google, tracking tags, web trends, browser, AB/multivariate testing, etc.) and implement tags to provide information and determine ongoing improvements to our solutions
Knowledge & Experience
- Figma is essential to the role and will be used daily.
- 10+ years experience leading the design/execution of user experiences
- 10+ years of working experience with multi member UX design teams on complex User Experience centric initiatives
- 10+ years experience in software development / digital industry and other relevant professional experience
- 10+ years experience designing and executing creative user experiences with track record of implementing responsive designs for medium to high complexity solutions
- Experience working in a team‑based, fast‑paced Agile or Waterfall development environment
- Experience with animation software (Premiere, After Effects, among other tools)
- A diploma or degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, etc.) in Fine Arts, Liberal Arts, Interdisciplinary Design, Media Arts, Computer Science (Human Computer Interaction), Interaction Design, Digital Media, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, visual design, or human‑centred design or any related field, with relevant experiences and portfolios
- Nice to Have: Some knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM platforms would be helpful.
Skills & Competencies
- User Experience Design: Designing and plans user‑centered products and services, while promoting usability and productivity. Includes proficiency in the following areas: Wireframe and Prototyping Design: Proficiency in a number of UX wireframe and prototyping design tools such as Omnigraffle, InVision, Indigo Studio, Axure, Balsamiq and Adobe Creative Suite
- Graphic and Web Design: Proficiency in CSS, HTML, web standards and cross‑browser issues & fixes; Strong visual design sense required
- Lean UX Methodology: Proficiency in Lean UX Methodology application and Agile Workflows
- Design Engineering: Basic understanding of design theory, concepts, principles, standards and best practices
- Research & Analysis Designs, analyzes, synthesizes and interpret data drawing on widely varied sources
- Research & Development Knowledge: Solid knowledge of how to develop products from feasibility through design and implementation to production
- Agile Framework and Practice: Contributes to simple Agile solutions and initiatives
