Job description

City of Steinbach is looking for an Aquatic Centre Manager who is responsible for the operation and programming of the Aquatic Centre. This position will report to the Manager, Parks & Recreation and supervise Aquatic and Customer Service employees.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the team and organizational structure for accountability and efficiency
  • Anticipate and forecast the Centre’s needs and requirements
  • Develop, organize and manage Aquatic Centre programming
  • Develop and implement aquatic guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Perform budgeting and financial planning
  • Coordinate promotion and advertising of facility programmes
  • Ensure all legal, legislative and safety requirements are met
  • Prepare reports, performance reviews, and operational documents
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and respond to public inquiries or concerns
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated experience in staff supervision of an aquatic or recreation facility, including programming and scheduling
  • Working knowledge of aquatic or recreation facility operation, planning and administration
  • Superior public relations, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to promote and foster a team‑based environment
  • Superior facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete necessary tasks
  • Knowledge of first aid, life safety and workplace safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be available for some evening and weekend shifts
