Reporting to the General Supervisor, Metals, the Pipefitter Apprentice under the supervision of a certified journeyperson pipefitter or welder, is accountable for the general installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment assets in Nutrien, Redwater Nitrogen Operations in a safe, timely, cost effective and efficient manner. Pipefitters are responsible for the maintenance and repair of utility and process piping as well as fixed equipment such as drums, towers, and exchangers.The successful candidate will possess e xcellent interpersonal, communication, and interactive team skills

This position is located in Redwater, Alberta, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

• Assisting with the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping components and systems including steam traps, check valves, manual isolation valves, as well as fixed equipment such as tanks, towers, and exchangers under the guidance of a Journeyperson Pipefitter or Welder
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and P&IDs, utilize SAP for daily maintenance activities under the guidance of a Journeyperson Pipefitter or Welder
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards and maintenance procedures are followed and updated accordingly, identifying opportunities for improvement under the guidance of a Journeyperson Pipefitter or Welder
• Maintain equipment history and documentation identifying opportunities for improvement under the guidance of a Journeyperson Pipefitter or Welder

• Thorough mechanical aptitude
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office software
